This just made happier :3

Best day in a long time!

I went by train to Göteborg to meet up with my dear clarinet-friend from Symphonic today :D

We strolled through town after a lunch outside the central station, following the tramtracks of line 4 towards the “crossroads” station, took some detours into a few shops and just looked around on the way there. We were actually trying to find the concert hall where LIBM was to have a concert at later in the afternoon, just to know where we were supposed to go. Funny thing was that we found it at the same time as the band arrived in their bus to the place, so we could say hello to my flute-friend :D

Then we just strolled down the streets again to find some place to eat, and we ended up on the seriously coolest decorated resturant I’ve ever been too!!! Various very old dented and unusable instruments were made decorations and lamps and even sort of paintings. I’m going to post some pictures ;D

The LIBM concert was awesome. I’m so jealous, impressed and inspired all at the same time :’) I’m so proud of my flute-friend too :3

It was a really nice last concert with Symphonic Band<3 I’m gonna miss them so much!!! :’( Had to hand in my sheet music and my jacket, and then we signed each others caps from camp and took some photos…

I will still be and stand by all band nerds forever even if i’m out. Always.

I was just sorting out all of my sheet music. And I’m singing my part of the “Graduating Student’s Song” over and over again. It’s on friday. Wow.

Last concert with Symphonic Band this afternoon… :’)

Band Jacket!!! :D

The first three gigs and concerts yesterday went really good :) We got our band-jackets so we had them on morning gig with Symphonic Band at the harbour, where we played for the tourists on a visiting sailing cruiser. A really enthusiastic audience :D After we were finished the captain came out and played Amazing Grace on bagpipes for us! That was sooo cool!!

Then I played two concerts with the classical ensemble in school and in town. I just had a small slip in one piece when I was listening to the cellis’ more than concentrating on the notes so I missed to come in right at the start of a new phrase x) But they play so beautiful.

When I checked my phone after the concert in town I had four missed calls and a message that told me that the jazz-ensemble had already started the last gig without me. So I had to leave in a hurry and run all the way there. I got really upset and irritated about this. It was not supposed to have collided on the schedule if they hadn’t moved place! :( So when I came into the hall with aching legs out of breath and sweating like an idiot they have to give me all the attention and applaud me. FUCKING EMBARRASSING. And afterwards someone just had to comment to me that ”Gosh you were veeery late!” YEA. NO SHIT SHERLOCK.
I would probably have felt better if I just hadn’t care to turn up. They knew that I had a concert with the classical ensemble in town.

Appreciation-level is down in the bottom now.

Four gigs/concerts tomorrow!! Here we go!

RUM Festival 2012!!

I haven’t posted anything about the RUM festival last weekend..! I just told you it was awesome, but I never mentioned what it actually was awesome for ;)

I concluded it like this :

“Tired but mostly happy and inspired after this weekend in Västerås with Symphonic :) Competitions, bawling, concerts, marching, gigs, piccolo, interesting lectures, workshops and a totally crazy bus trip! And you could not forget the best part. Wonderful bandmembers and super-awesome music! ♥”

The Ghost Sonata yesterday went terrific! I felt like I nailed everything in the play and the performance afterwards I just made little minor faults, I didn’t even care to pay attention too that… It’s just a moodkiller to do so sometimes.
My old flute-teacher was there and it was so nice to see her! I haven’t seen her for three years, she seemed so proud that I had made such progress in my flute-playing! :’3 She said she recorded some of it when I played so if I get it I think I’ll put it up :)
It’s been fantastic to work with this theater-group, they’re all so nice and amazing. Even if it was the last performance of the play yesterday they said that there were possible opportunities coming up to play it a few more times :)

I marched in town with Symphonic Band this noon. It was quite windy so in some streets when we went towards the wind it was very hard to get a tune out x) I wasn’t really feeling so good either and I think I might have drawn a new cold upon myself again :( It might just be that I am affected by the extreme levels of pollen in the air, even if I’m not allergic, but anyways… totally not awesome. Next weekend we’ll go to Västerås and the music festival arranged by RUM (“National Association of Young Musicians”) so I really want to be well soon again. Uff.

I’m getting better now :)
Had to play a lot today and even if I’m not completely healthy yet, I managed it quite good. Had a some rehearsals in the morning and a lunch concert with the classical ensemble that went very well. I was quite tired tired in the afternoon ensemble but it got better afterwards when I had a bit of sunshine and food with a friend :)

Marching practice went really good today, I got myself a pair of knitted finger-tip-less gloves (what’s the real name for that?) so my hands wouldn’t get so cold :3 Worked properly and awesome!
The indoor part of the orchestra rehearsal was a bit in a bad mood at some times because of an endless “discussion” (or more of a lecture from our conductor) that always occurs at some point every time when something is played wrong. It was really awkward this time and the bad tension was not really avoidable… I really felt like leaving the room but I also thought that I could have said something, since I think he need to change his arguments to make himself better understood.
At least we played the Sabre Dance in rocket-speed tempo in the end haha, it made up for it, but only a little bit :3 I love the chromatic scale in the end. Waah<3

Had a real great orchestra rehearsal tonight! We practiced marching the first half hour, just as the sun went down. Even if it was plus degrees I couldn’t feel my fingers in the end… anyways it was fun :D Then we took out a piece that we haven’t done since Christmas, my favourite of all those we’ve played really :3 YAY I was so happy about that!!! :D I love orchestra! I want to be there with those people all days<3

Played promo concerts for the music school with Symphonic Band this morning :) The kids were soooo cute! We played and presented all of the instruments to them and they had to “guess” what the names were - and it wasn’t so easy for them haha ;) They kept saying that the oboe was a clarinet and they seemed to think that most of the brass instruments were trumpets lol ^^ They were also very very impressed by the gigantic tuba xD
