We're all bigger on the inside
Hello! I'm Ida.
Let's fly into space and time together!

“The Ghost Sonata”
Me and two of my flute “colleagues” are currently involved in this play, I haven’t mentioned it a lot but we’ve only had three rehearsals with the actors so far. We are to play only one at a time so we have three evenings each, including the last all-the-way-through-reheasals. The actors have been working on this play since autumn term started last year and I’m greatly impressed by them all for their hard work and efforts! They’re amazing! I can’t tell with words how much I am enchanted by their acting skills..!
This play, by August Strindberg, was written in 1907. The title is inspired by Beethoven’s piano sonata in d-minor (op 31 no 2) in which Strindberg thought he heard voices of spirits and ghosts.
One of the actors in the play is my previous solo-song teacher :) She has written a song of a poem in the play that her character hums and sings and that we play at different times in the acts to bring in moods. We also use the fundament to improvise over from my 12-tone composition that I made last year to the parts that are to be more creepy :3
It’s a very different way of working with music in collaboration with theater that at least I haven’t “met with” so much before. It’s pretty exciting to know that I really bring something to the whole picture :) I also like that I get use of my improvise-and-follow skills that we’ve worked a bit on in school ^^
Tomorrow night I’ll have the last dress rehearsal with audience! :D
