It’s only fair if I post cheerleaders in band, I should post football players as well. (Although, I’d really like to see this guy’s practice schedule…)
REBLOGGING ON THE RIGHT BLOG.
Oh god. Why can’t I do this?! I WOULD.
This reminds me of this one time there was a football player who played our HS that marched flute.

I am extremely impressed by the badass levels in these pictures.
Is he center marimba??? I am amazed. I wanna give him a hug.
THE FLUTE PLAYER THOUGH (sorry, I’m a bit biased to my own instrument and this just makes me smile)

We had an outside concert in town once and the wind was blowing like crazy, so pegs did’t help much at all. During a piece the stand I shared with my fellow flutist fell over and I somehow managed to catch it while I embarassingly loud hissed to him to continue playing heehe

In my senior year at high school I joined Symphonic Band. It was the best thing ever, I made a few new friends, we marched, went to the RUM-festival for young musicians and so much more. I had a great time,I could go on for ages about all the fun, but I think I’ll leave it at this.
MARCHING BAND IS AWESOME
Empty chairs during coffee-break at rehersals :)
Had an extra long rehersal with the band tonight, just a sectional all the way through, but I haven’t learned more for ages. I really like to be - sort of - back on track and playing flute loads again :D
oh god look at all the music I got to practise now!!! :D
TEN pieces and a possible piccolo part. Two parts are oboe substitutes though (I don’t really get why we need to play them becuase it’s barely audible on flute. Oh well anyways).
It’s really nice to be back in again, even if it’s a new band where I don’t know anyone.

My marching band went into NYC to march in the Columbus Day Parade! :D
This is me in the block! Thank god my angle was good!
How do you manage to play with gloves on! I’m seriously impressed!! :O
I got Strauss’ Radetzky March stuck in my head. JEEZ
RUM Festival 2012!!
I haven’t posted anything about the RUM festival last weekend..! I just told you it was awesome, but I never mentioned what it actually was awesome for ;)
I concluded it like this :
“Tired but mostly happy and inspired after this weekend in Västerås with Symphonic :) Competitions, bawling, concerts, marching, gigs, piccolo, interesting lectures, workshops and a totally crazy bus trip! And you could not forget the best part. Wonderful bandmembers and super-awesome music! ♥”
I will post some pictures next ^^
The Ghost Sonata yesterday went terrific! I felt like I nailed everything in the play and the performance afterwards I just made little minor faults, I didn’t even care to pay attention too that… It’s just a moodkiller to do so sometimes.
My old flute-teacher was there and it was so nice to see her! I haven’t seen her for three years, she seemed so proud that I had made such progress in my flute-playing! :’3 She said she recorded some of it when I played so if I get it I think I’ll put it up :)
It’s been fantastic to work with this theater-group, they’re all so nice and amazing. Even if it was the last performance of the play yesterday they said that there were possible opportunities coming up to play it a few more times :)
I marched in town with Symphonic Band this noon. It was quite windy so in some streets when we went towards the wind it was very hard to get a tune out x) I wasn’t really feeling so good either and I think I might have drawn a new cold upon myself again :( It might just be that I am affected by the extreme levels of pollen in the air, even if I’m not allergic, but anyways… totally not awesome. Next weekend we’ll go to Västerås and the music festival arranged by RUM (“National Association of Young Musicians”) so I really want to be well soon again. Uff.
I’m cleaning my room, listening to Smetana’s Moldau, Coldplay and Britten’s guide to the orchestra, and I’m in high heels (walking them in so to say, so I won’t get blisters on my graduation). Yup. This moment is really weird! x)
Marching in town this morning went good :) Not much to say about it, but there were loads of people and that was nice! ^^
Had a good flute lesson today :) It’s been about month since my last because of auditions, concerts, sickness and holidays… I was really happy to get some new stuff to play :3 A little summery tune called “Lawn Tennis” by Peterson-Berger and then we continued on Gaubert’s Madrigal. I am a bit bored with Telemann and Godard now since I’ve played them much for a long time now… even if they’re really awesome I think they need some rest.
We talked about my auditions, HIR and a little about the Ghost Sonata, mostly about my developement since I started on the music programme. I’ve climbed pretty big steps since I realized that I’m going for music. It’s marvelous! That is what I always tell myself. One thought. And then I instatnly started to get better, how come I didn’t got the message all the way before?! I just. Love. Playing. Flute.
Ahead is a long weekend with loads to do. Clean my room, practice… and climb the mountain of homework… and I should go to bed since we’re gonna do some marching in town tomorrow…
God natt ;)
